Por esta razón, AL DÍA lanzó la semana pasada uno de los proyectos editoriales más excitantes en los 25 años de historia de este medio de comunicación independiente, fundado y dirigido por periodistas. Un medio ubicado aquí mismo, en Filadelfia, el segundo mayor enclave de la diáspora portorriqueña en los EEUU.

That is why AL DÍA launched last week one of the most exciting editorial projects during our 25 years of existence as an independent news outlet —owned and operated by journalists— here in Philadelphia, home to the second largest settlement of the large Puerto Rican Diáspora in the U.S.

Taking advantage of the DNC2016, which was hosted in our city the final week of July, AL DÍA launched an unique editorial crowd-sourcing project to document an untold, undocumented story:

La semana coincide con el Cinco de Mayo, la festividad más asociada con México en Estados Unidos. Generalmente confundida con la fecha de la Independencia de México, el Cinco de Mayo conmemora la victoria del ejército mexicano sobre las tropas francesas en la Batalla de Puebla, en 1862.
